Ready Built House Company, like the other kit home companies, offered a variety of designs and sizes to entice buyers — a strategy that included companies that would purchase small, modest homes in bulk for workers. This tiny plan without a bathroom was typical of the low-end offerings and was sufficiently popular to be offered in the 1921 catalog as the Rio Grande. Most of this type of tiny cottage has vanished from the American scene and been replaced with more "middle-class" dwellings.
