Plan No. 169

1915 Ready Built House Company of Portland, Oregon

This handsome Craftsman-style plan with its shingle siding and heavily braced roof is the essence of what we think of today as the perfect bungalow. At one end of the large living room is the fireplace and at the other a bay window. A colonnade marks the line between the living and dining rooms. A bank of windows in the dining room allows ample light and a French door opens to a small porch ... perfect for morning coffee and the paper. Later renamed the Greenwich, the plan was essentially unchanged on the main floor, but had reconfigured second floor with much better storage and closets in later iterations.
